Crimes Committed at the Xian Worker's Sanatorium

(Clearwisdom.net) The Xian Worker's Sanatorium (Xian Worker's Hospital) has persecuted Falun Dafa practitioners since 2001. Brainwashing sessions for persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners were established by the Xian Public Security Bureau and Safety Bureau under the guidance of the Xian 610 Office. Xian 610 Office Brainwashing Center was located in the Shanxi Province Worker's Sanatorium before 2001.

The Xian Public Security Bureau has delivered orders to its subordinates that Falun Dafa practitioners arrested by public security sub-bureaus and police stations are no longer to be questioned at their local area, but must be sent to brainwashing centers. The centers have been turned into places where confessions are forced using torture.

The Xian Worker's Sanatorium is divided into two gardens. One is called the "Osmanthus Garden" and the other one is the "Palm Garden." The "Osmanthus Garden" is a brainwashing center established and monitored by the Xian 610 Office. Here, Chinese Communist Party members force practitioners to watch videos and read books that defame Falun Dafa, write statements of "transformation," and conduct continual mental torture. They lock practitioners in small solitary cells, deprive them of sleep, subject them to exposure to high intensity light, threaten them, bombard them with propaganda, physically assault them, and put debilitating psychotropic drugs into their food. One male practitioner in his 20's became unable to walk after being persecuted. The authorities force practitioners to pay for the expenses incurred during persecution. Some practitioners' relatives were extorted of huge amounts of money in exchange for the practitioners' release.

The "Palm Garden" was a place temporarily set up to detain Falun Dafa practitioners during the Para-Olympic Games. Several dozen Dafa practitioners were detained there during that period. They released several Dafa practitioners after the games, but the majority were transferred to the "Osmanthus Garden." They have not been released to this day.

The "Palm Garden" has now become a place where the Public Security Bureau secretly detains and questions people. The guards there are plainclothes public security personnel, and the windows and curtains are kept shut. The practitioners there are cut off from the outside world, suffering various tortures such as wearing handcuffs and shackles or having their hands cuffed behind their backs for long periods of time. Practitioners are sent to forced labor or torture at the whim of the public security officers there.

In September 2005, the National Security Team leader for Yanta Public Security Sub-Bureau of Xian City, Yan Meiming, and Dou Xiaozhou ransacked Ms. Li Changying's home and arrested her. They then sent her to the Changan District Worker's Sanatorium. The guards in the brainwashing center took turns threatening her and attempting to trick her. Later they locked her up in Yanta Detention Center for three months, and then sent her for two years of forced labor re-education in the Xian Women's Forced Labor Camp. Not long after that, Li Changying suffered a recurrence of her old illnesses. Her abdomen and legs suffered from severe swelling, so the labor camp released her.

After she was released, Li Changying became a key person for the Hongyan Community Office to monitor. Chen Shuping, the head of the community, repeatedly monitored and harassed her and her family. After eight years of persecution by the CCP, Li Changying passed away on August 31, 2007.

In February 2004, Ms. Li Zhirong was arrested by the Lianhu Public Security Sub-Bureau and sent to a brainwashing center for over five months. In 2007, police from the State Security Team of Lianhu Sub-Bureau ransacked Li Zhirong's home. They confiscated a lot of Falun Dafa materials and kept her at the brainwashing center for over twenty days.

Not long before the Olympic Games, seven or eight policemen from the National Security Team rushed into Li Zhirong's home and ransacked the place. They took 66-year-old Li Zhirong to the brainwashing center. That was the ninth time she had been arrested by the police.

Ms. Liu Jing, 75, was a physician-in-charge in Xidian Hospital before her retirement. She lives at Renjiazhuang Residential District in Xian City. On March 17, 2008 in the afternoon, CCP members arrested her and took her to the Xian Brainwashing Center in Changan District.

Ms. Jin Rong, 35, was a staff member of the Lishan Electronics Company in Lintong. In August 2002, she was arrested and sent to the brainwashing center at Xian Worker's Sanatorium in Changan County. She endured two stays at the brainwashing center because she refused to renounce her belief. In 2003 before the Chinese New Year, because her workplace refused to bail her out and she refused to be "transformed," people from the public security bureau went to her dormitory and found over 30 truth-clarifying DVDs and printed materials. For that, they sent her for one-year of forced labor.

In mid-October 2003, over twenty Falun Dafa practitioners were detained at the brainwashing center in Xian Worker's Sanatorium at Changan District. The brainwashing sessions lasted three months, but Chen Jie and five other Dafa practitioners were not released because they refused to cooperate.

Xian Falun Dafa practitioner Liu Aiying was reported when distributing truth-clarifying materials in the Armed Police Hospital. The police arrested her and sent her to the local 610 Office. Later, she was taken away by Xinchen Sub-Bureau police officer Zhou Xiaoyu. On April 10, she was sent to Xian Brainwashing Center in Xian Worker's Sanatorium.

Ms. Zhao Jiabi, 70, worked in the fifth department of Xian Public Security Bureau before she retired. Around March 10, 2008, she was taken to the Xian Brainwashing Center at Changan District.

Ms. Zhou Yating, in her forties, is from Hu County, Xian City. The local 610 Office has continually harassed her because she refuses to give up Falun Gong. She was repeatedly arrested and sent for forced labor. Her husband divorced her because he couldn't bear the pressure. She had no place to go, so she had to become homeless. Because she had no income, sometimes she had no food to eat for several days. She was again arrested and taken to Xian Brainwashing Center in Changan County during the Para-Olympic Games. On September 7, she was sent from "Osmanthus Garden" to "Palm Garden" in handcuffs, walking with great difficulty due to all that she has suffered. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

Mr. Qu Xuan, in his thirties, is from Xian City. Because he refused to stop practicing Falun Gong, he was forced to leave home and find a job in Guangzhou after graduating from college. In July 2008, the Guangzhou 610 Office sent him back to the Changan County Brainwashing Center in Xian City. He is still detained to this day.

Ms. Zhou Yanping, in his thirties, is from Yanliang District, Shanxi Province. In 2007, she was arrested when clarifying the facts about Falun Gong. Because she refused to stop practicing Falun Gong, she was sent to Shanxi Women's Forced Labor Camp for a one-year term. In July 2008, the 610 Office sent her again to the Changan Brainwashing Center in Xian City in order to "transform" her. She has not been released to this day.

Ms. Chen Cuizhen, 56, is a retired worker of the Weihe Electric Factory in Xian. She was sent for forced labor three times because she refused to give up Falun Gong. In April 2007, she was again sent for one year and three months of forced labor. In 2008, the 610 Office sent her to the Changan Brainwashing Center one day before her scheduled release. She has not been released to this day.

Ms. Luo Changyun, 55, is from Ankang City, Shanxi Province. She was repeatedly arrested and sent for forced labor because she refused to give up Falun Gong. The Ankong 610 Office arrested her again during the Para-Olympic Games, and she is still detained at the Ankong Detention Center.

The following Falun Dafa practitioners have been arrested and sent to brainwashing centers since 2001:

Nie Aiju, Zhang Xiuying, Du Ju, Chen Cuizhen, Liao Min, Lu Xiuling, Cui Meilian, Zhang Mingliang, Chen Fayuan, Liu Aiying, Xu Zhili, Wang Jiali, Li Guiqing, Chen Mingan, Li Guilan, Li Zhirong couple, Wang Tong, Wang Dong, Huang Rujun, Yan Anfang, Zhou Yanping, Su Haiping, Li Heping, Wang Juan, Jiang Weidong, Qi Ping, Li Xueqing, Zhou Suying, Zhang Xianglian, Song Zhi, Xuan Yanru, Zhang Yunxian, Lan Lan, Chen Baifang. Among them, Chen Cuizhen and Zhang Xianglian were again sent back to Shanxi Women's Forced Labor Camp from the brainwashing center.

Practitioner Got out of the Detention Center After Hunger Strike

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Zhang Chuanguang was arrested on November 19, 2008. Officers from the National Security Division of the Hua'nan Police Department in Heilongjiang Province made the arrest and took him to the Hua'nan Detention Center. He kept reciting the Fa, practicing the five exercises, sending forth righteous thoughts, and clarifying the facts about Falun Dafa. He often shouted, "Falun Dafa is good" and every time he did this, the detainees followed and shouted after him.

Mr. Zhang was transferred to three different wards during his two weeks of detention. Wherever he went, he clarified the facts and persuaded people to withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations. Many inmates learned the first exercise. One inmate did not shout "Falun Dafa is good" at the beginning. Mr. Zhang had a chat with him and learned that he was detained for injuring his wife. He planned to spend a few years in prison and then kill his wife upon his release. After Mr. Zhang talked to him, he changed his plans and shouted "Falun Dafa is good" from the bottom of his heart. Then, when he appeared in court, his wife dropped the charges against him. This changed his fate altogether. He told other detainees that this benevolent outcome was the result of shouting "Falun Dafa is good" from the bottom of his heart.

After being detained for ten days, Mr. Zhang Chuanguang began a hunger strike. Originally the police had decided to sentence him to one year of forced labor along with Mr. Wen Hongjun. On December 1, police officer Chen Yujun from the Hua'nan National Security Division attempted to send these two practitioners to the Shuihua Forced Labor Camp. On their way, Mr. Zhang shouted on the top of his lungs, "Falun Dafa is good!" As a result, when they arrived in Jiamusi City, the police turned around and returned to Hua'nan Detention Center.

Mr. Zhang continued his hunger strike. His relatives and fellow practitioners all actively joined in helping to rescue him. During the 16 days that he was detained, his mother Ms. Guo Renai, who is also a practitioner, went to the police department 15 times to clarify the facts and request the release of her son. Mr. Zhang's relatives also participated in this rescue activity. Finally, Mr. Zhang Chuanguang was released on the afternoon of December 5, 2008. As they released him, the police attempted to extort two thousand yuan from the family, but Ms. Guo Renai resolutely refused to comply.

Police From Baoqing County, Heilongjiang Province Arrest Nine Falun Dafa Practitioners

(Clearwisdom.net) From June 11 to June 23, 2008 610 Office agents from Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province conspired with the Party personnel from Baoqing County to arrest nine Falun Dafa practitioners from Baoqing County: Ms. Wang Junhong, Ms. Wang Yarong, Mr. Meng Xianguo, Mr. Jiang Jie, Mr. Tian Xiaoxuan, Mr. Jiang Guifu, Mr. Yu Zhanhong, Mr. Tian Chengjun, and Mr. Liu Junzhong.

On June 11 at 3:00 p.m., Du Zhanyi and Zou Dekuan from the 610 Office of Shuangyashan City, an Internet police officer, Baoqing County Political Security Section Chief Xie Yuntong, an individual with the surname Bai, Wang Xiuli, Wang Xincheng, Du Yunlong, Du Fuxiang, Zhang Ruiguang, and others knocked on a practitioner's door to "check the residency register." Seeing that no one was coming to open the door, Du Zhanyi then climbed over the neighbor's wall to enter and pry open the window. He then opened the door to allow the officers to rush into the residence. They were in plainclothes. Xie Yuntong took the lead, and without showing any ID, they took Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Wang Junhong, Ms. Wang Yarong, Mr. Meng Xianguo, Mr. Jiang Jie, and Mr. Tian Xiaoxuan to the county police department. Since Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Meng Xianguo once exposed Zhang Ruiguang's persecution against his family members, Zhang Ruiguang brutally attacked Mr. Meng on the way there. Ms. Wang Junhong tried to intervene, but she was also attacked by Zhang.

At the county police department, Xie Yuntong allowed several people to beat Mr. Meng Xianguo inside a room. Ms. Wang Yarong (Mr. Meng's wife) was beaten and kicked by a person with the surname Bai from the Baoqing County State Security Division because she tried to stop their vicious behavior. The five practitioners' cell phones were taken away. At just past 5:00 p.m. on June 11, Mr. Jiang Guifu was arrested at home. At 6:00 p.m., Mr. Yu Zhanhong passed by Mr. Jiang Guifu's home while going out, and he was arrested by police waiting nearby to ambush him. Mr. Yu's home was ransacked as well.

The items stolen from Mr. Wang Junhong's home included a high-speed copier, a computerized engraving machine, two color printers, two laptops, several cell phones, 3 electronic books, 3 MP4 and MP3 players, and other consumer items. Mr. Jiang Guifu's computer and printer, among other items, were stolen from his home.

The police imprisoned them at the Baoqing County Detention Center without any detention warrants. Only 15 days later did they then show the detention warrant, which stated they would be detained for 7 days. The police forced them to sign the detention warrant. They have now been imprisoned far past 7 days. While they were imprisoned, Du Fuxiang and Procuratorate public prosecutor Sun Guicheng, supposed law enforcers, actually broke the law by extorting "confessions" by torture, and only one person filed a written report. Mr. Tian Xiaoxuan was interrogated for three days, during which he was not allowed to sleep and forced to sit for long time on the Tiger Bench with shackles on. This kind of torture can cause a person's legs to lose sensation, but no scar will be apparent on the surface.

On June 18, Mr. Tian Chengjun was arrested at home.

At 9:00 a.m. on June 23, the police arrested Mr. Liu Junzhong, who served as the Tax Bureau Chief for Xiaochengzi Town, Baoqing County. They stole his office computer. Mr. Liu's home was ransacked at that time.

Under the Shuangyashan City CCP Secretary Wang Fengchun's direction, these nine practitioners were harshly sentenced. The practitioners filed appeals of "not guilty", requesting their release.

Individuals involved in trial:
Wang Fengchun, secretary of the Political and Judiciary Committee of Shuangyashan City: 86-469-4227406 (Office), 86-13946696066 (Cell)

Middle School Teacher Liu Yanlong from Jiaohe, Jilin Province Illegally Arrested

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Liu Yanlong, a teacher at the First Middle School in Jiaohe, Jilin was arrested at his workplace on November 25, 2008.

On November 25, Pan Honglin, director of the Jiaohe 610 Office along with two officers, entered the First Middle School and illegally arrested Mr. Liu Yanlong. The perpetrators also confiscated Mr. Liu's house key, then ransacked his home. When family members went to the Domestic Security Division to ask about Mr. Liu's status, the officers claimed no knowledge of the incident.

Mr. Liu became a practitioner in1998. After practicing Falun Gong, he quickly recovered from a previous heart condition. In July 1999, when the Chinese Communist Party started to persecute Falun Gong, Mr. Liu traveled to Beijing on December 24, 2000, in order to help share the truth about Dafa. He was arrested and sentenced to three years of forced labor.

After Mr. Liu was released, the Jiaohe Education Committee and 610 Office continued to persecute him by not allowing him to return to work. Mr. Liu refused to adopt a pessimistic attitude, so he filed a work application request for a resumption of his teaching activities. With help from other righteous people, he was allowed to resume teaching. Mr. Liu Yanlong strictly followed the standards of Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance as a practitioner throughout his teaching career.

However, personnel from the 610 Office continued to harass Mr. Liu at work. They illegally arrested him in front of a large group of students with the excuse that they needed him for a conference. His current location and condition are not known by his family, nor by the school personnel.

The officials who participated in the persecution include the 610 Office director, Pan Honglin, Bai Mingku from the Politics and Law Committee, and others.

Guards and Inmates in Suihua Forced Labor Camp in Heilongjiang Province Torture Falun Dafa Practitioners

(Clearwisdom.net) Many Falun Dafa practitioners are detained in the No.1 Team in Heilongjiang Province Suihua Forced Labor Camp. They are referred to as the "Falun Gong team." Associate Team Leader Liu Wei, Political Instructor Gao Zhonghai, Team Leader Lian Xing, Diao Xuexong, and guards Jin Qingfu, Li Jian, Shi Jian, and Li Xichun have been very cruel to practitioners in the labor camp.

They have tortured practitioners to varying degrees. Some practitioners were hung from a wall while handcuffed behind their backs, and their heads were covered with plastic bags.

They were also burned, force-fed mustard oil, and had cold water poured over their heads. They were forced to sit still on an iron chair and their fingers were burned with cigarettes. Bamboo sticks were shoved under their fingernails, and they were shocked with electric batons and were beaten with rubber sticks. They were kicked, punched, and slapped in the face, forced to stand for a very long time, deprived of sleep, forced to do continuous hard labor, were not allowed to buy food or daily necessaries from a store inside the camp, or to use the bathroom.

Guards also attempted to force practitioners to write the Three Statements, using the excuse that they needed to follow the rules of the labor camp.

Practitioners Bai Shulin, Zhao Dezhi, Wang Chunjiang, Bian Baoli, Song Hongtao, Cao Guodong, Lian Tao, Liu Jingzhou, Wu Hongzhu, Wang Chunyu, Zhan Xingchao, Dong Xuekun, Zhang Chuanxi, Jiang Weimin, Li Shuwen, Han Mingquan, Cui Jinggui, and Wang Boyan have been subjected to different degrees of torture.

In fall of 2007, guard Jin Qingfu ordered the practitioners to sing Chinese Communist Party (CCP) songs. The practitioners refused, so Jin called practitioners Tie Zhijie and Li Yunbiao into his office, handcuffed them, and then beat them.

When Mr. Li came back to his cell, both his head and chest were injured, and he had difficulty breathing and eating.

Mr. Tie's face was swollen, and even after many days, the injuries on his face were still visible. After that, the guards again tried to force them to sing the CCP songs and recite the labor camp rules. They ordered criminal inmates to watch the practitioners, and if they didn't sing loudly enough, they would be beaten. They were not allowed to speak all day long on a daily basis, and were forced to sit on a small stool to restrict their mobility.

Inmates at the labor camp were supposed to take a break after lunch, but practitioners were not allowed a break. Not only that, they had to sit on a stool for more than an hour in the evenings before they could go to bed. Their terms were also extended without cause. One time, after guard Jin Qingfu beat the practitioners and left, criminal inmates continued beating them. This time, the guards that participated in this were Diao Xuesong, Jin Qingfu, and Li Yingjun.

In November 2007, practitioners refused to sing or write or recite anything created by the CCP. Guard Qu Jiantao instigated criminal inmates to torment practitioners psychologically and physically. It was fairly warm inside the room in the winter, but Wei Chunhui ordered criminals to force practitioner Xie Jiezhou (nearly 70 years old) to do physical exercises and stand while wearing a thick winter coat. They also forced him to sing CCP songs, recite labor camp rules, and write the "Three Statements." Mr. Xie was very tired and hot, but he was not allowed to take off his thick winter coat or have a break. As a result, he suffered a great deal both mentally and physically.

In 2007, Mr. Dai Zong was carried to the labor camp because he was already very weak and could hardly stand by himself. Guard Diao Xuesong still forced him to read numbers out loud, sing the CCP songs and recite labor camp rules. He was very nearsighted, so he could not see clearly and some criminals took advantage of him by tripping him on purpose. The collaborators also beat him. He finally couldn't stand up any more, nor could he eat anything, and he became bedridden. The labor camp authorities finally had to notify his family to come to take him home.

At the end of 2007, practitioner Mr. Wang Chunjiang refused to write the so-called "transformation" brochure, which always has words defaming Dafa. He was called by the guards into their offices, where they covered his head with a plastic bag and hung him up. He eventually passed out. The guards responsible for torturing him were Diao Xuesong, Wang Xiaobin, and Li Jian, who also burned his fingers with a lighter.

In June 2008, practitioner Qi Wenbin was allegedly behind in his forced labor quota, so his term was extended by guard Wang Xiaobin. The guard also tortured him so the at he ended up passing out in his cell. His physical condition deteriorated steadily so that he couldn't see certain things, his movement became very slow, and he had difficulty in his bowel movements and in urination. In the end, he could not stand up anymore, and when it was mealtime, it took four people to drag him to eat. The four criminal inmates did not care whether Mr. Qi got hurt or not, so they dragged him any which way. They broke the skin on the backs of his feet, which bled badly.

In July 2008, when practitioner Sheng Yanjun refused to sign a form, he was hung up while handcuffed behind his back and only the tips of his toes touched the ground. Guard Li Jian beat Mr. Sheng and a plastic bag was put over Mr. Sheng's head. The guards who participated in the torture were Long Kuibin, Diao Xuesong, Jin Qingfu, Li Jian, and Wang Xiaobin.

In August 2008, practitioner Ding Xuesen refused to write the so-called Three Statements or wear criminal clothes. He was stripped and hung up while handcuffed behind his back. The guards and criminal inmates also shocked him with electric batons. His bruises were visible for a long time. Guards who participated in torturing him were Diao Xuesong, Jin Qingfu, and others. The criminals involved included Sun Chengfu and Sun Lifeng.

The above are only a few of the people from Suihua Forced Labor Camp involved in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners.

Ms. Hu Jiqin from Songzi City, Hubei Province is Persecuted, Her Family Broken Up

Written by a Dafa practitioner from Hubei Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Hu Jiqin from Songzi City, Hubei Province was subjected to cruel persecution for her belief in Falun Gong and as a result her family was broken up. She is now held in the First Detention Center of Songzi City. Exhausted by the harassment, intimidation and extortion of money by the police, her husband was forced into divorcing her. In addition, her 70-year-old mother was intimidated and jailed for many years by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), causing her death in August 2005.

Ms. Hu Jiqin is a resident of Xinjiangkou Town, Songzi City, Hubei Province. She started to practice Falun Gong in 1998. Before she practiced Falun Gong she suffered from many illnesses including severe anemia, constant dizziness and gastric diseases. In particular, she suffered from a skin ulcer the size of a palm in the back of her neck, for which she resorted to both Chinese and Western treatments without success. She suffered many years from acute pain and itching. After she started to practice Falun Gong in 1998 all of her illnesses were gone in a short period. She then started a wholesale food business. As a Falun Gong practitioner she was always kind to others and her business expanded rapidly. However, after the CCP started to persecute Falun Gong in 1999 she was harassed and intimidated numerous times by local 610 Office officials, the National Security Team, and the police from Shuilu Police Station. The pressure forced her to end her profitable business.

After July 20, 1999, the day the CCP started to persecute Falun Gong nationwide, the directors of the 610 Office of Songzi City (Hu Shouwen, Li Xianjin and others) detained Ms. Hu. They placed her in the First Detention Center for one month and extorted 5,000 yuan from her. Ms. Hu was sentenced to forced labor in Shayang Labor Camp of Hubei Province. After she was released from the labor camp she was sent to brainwashing classes twice by Li Xianjin and others from the Songzi City 610 Office.

To save money for her daughter's university education she worked as an accountant in a private company in Yanglinshi Town, Songzi City. During that time she was harassed numerous times by the 610 Office and the National Security Team. Later, she was arrested and held in the First Detention Center for one month and extorted 5,000 yuan again.

On July 5, 2006 more than ten people, including director of the Songzi Ctiy 610 Office Deng Nian'gui, and police from the Shuilu Police Station, broke into Ms. Hu's home. They arrested and took her to the First Detention Center. She was later sent to a brainwashing class in Wuhan City, Hubei Province.

After Ms. Hu was arrested for the fifth time by Deng Nian'gui and police from Shuilu Police Station, she was sent to the First Detention Center again, where she was placed in a confinement cell and tortured. To keep her awake, the police forced her to stay under a big lamp right above her head for a long time and to sit on her knees on a board with a rough surface. She was not released until her family members paid the police 30,000 yuan.

After she was released from the detention center she went to stay with her sister in Beijing to get a job, but the police learned about her whereabouts. In the middle of April 2008 she was arrested in Beijing and sent to the Songzi City First Detention Center, where she has been held ever since. Her family members were threatened by police not to tell others the details of her current situation. The only thing that we know about her is that she has become crippled.

Ms. Hu's mother Ms. Luo Guangquan had also suffered from many illnesses, including constipation, dizziness, edema over her whole body, and an intestinal malfunction which made her unable to eat. In 1997 she started to practice Falun Gong. As a result her physical condition improved and she was able to start up a small business to make a living. As a Falun Gong practitioner she was always kind to others and her business ran very well.

After the persecution of Falun Gong started, Ms. Luo went to Beijing to tell authorities "Falun Dafa is good", for which she was arrested and sent back to the Songzi City First Detention Center. She was not released until one month later. Later, Den Nian'gui, director of the local 610 Office and Li Xianjin, director of the National Security Team, ordered the police from Shuilu Police Station to harass her on numerous occasions. In particular, Zhang Xuefeng, a policeman from Shuilu Police Station, jumped the fence of Ms. Luo's yard, broke into her home when she was home alone, and yelled at her to intimidate her. Sometimes a single officer would harass her, and sometimes seven or eight officers would climb over the fence and break into her home. One time, Li Xianjin and other police officers from Shuilu Police Station broke into her home, arrested her, and detained her in the First Detention Center for one month. Under constant harassment by the police, Ms. Luo died in August 2005.

We hereby call for the immediate release of Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Hu and the return of the 40,000 yuan and property that the Songzi City 610 Office extorted from her. We also call on all kind people to lend their support to help stop the persecution of Falun Gong which has lasted for nearly ten years.

Olympic Torch Relay Sets Off in Fujian Province; Falun Gong Practitioners under Surveillance or Being Arrested

(Clearwisdom.net) The Beijing Olympic Torch Relay set off in Fujian Province on May 11, 2008. Prior to this date, in order to ensure a "smooth relay of the torch," the local government had used various excuses to escalate the persecution against Falun Dafa practitioners. Practitioners were followed or monitored 24 hours a day. Even the peripheral areas that were not part of the torch route were monitored.

On May 11, 2008, officers from the 610 Office of Changting County in Longyan Prefecture made an all-out effort to search and ransack the home of every Falun Dafa practitioner. Practitioners were arrested if Falun Dafa books or truth-clarification materials were found in the home. The following practitioners were arrested: Mr. Xiao Qixiu, Ms. Cai Wenying, Mr. Li Dahe, Ms. Xiu Lianxiu, and others. Many practitioners whose names were not identified were also arrested. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) personnel arrested people without showing legal documentation. Some family members asked, "You are arresting people at will without any legal documentation?" They replied, "We can write up a document immediately."

On May 12, 2008, the torch was carried through Quanzhou City. According to a local practitioner, a few days before the torch arrived, practitioners were monitored by phone and every practitioner was watched by a designated person who would even follow the person when they went to the market to do some shopping. Two days before the torch set off, the Domestic Security Division of Quanzhou City Police Department used this as an excuse to arrest Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Huang Yongbin and his brother Huang Xiaobin, who live in Qianhuang Village of Qianhuang Town, Quan'gang District.

Mr. Zhu Ruirong, who lives in Donghai Town, Putian City, was also recently arrested by CCP personnel. Since 1999, Mr. Zhu has been repeatedly persecuted by the CCP, which resulted in a large debt for his family. Mr. Zhu is the main financial support for his family and he is responsible for several young children. This round of persecution by the CCP has caused a great amount of harm to his family.

According to sources, the CCP also monitored and followed dissidents 24 hours a day, and they were also persecuted.

The Olympic Torch Relay symbolizes peace, friendship, unity, and progress. Yet, in the hands of the CCP, it has become a tool to persecute its own people. During this time when the CCP is afraid of people organizing group appeals because of the Olympic Games, family members, excluding practitioners, of those who have been persecuted should be encouraged to organize relatives and friends into groups and go directly to the local government to request the release of those who are being detained.

Time is a little strained...

I will be posting soon, things got a little hectic...to say the least

It will take my brain a while to catch up, but the leaves are turning green and the future is full of sunlight.

Three Senior Citizens Persecuted by Liu Hong from Mingjiang Community Security in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Mingjiang Community Security officer Liu Hong has relentlessly followed Communist regime orders to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Recently he cooperated with people from the Longquan 610 Office and illegally arrested three senior citizens--Ms. Zhang Cifang, Ms. Shi Lanfang and Ms. Li Fangling--and took them to a brainwashing center.

From June to December 2003, Liu Hong had already started cooperating with the Longquanyi District 610 Office in Chengdu City to arrest practitioners Ms. Zhang Cifang and Ms. Shi Lanfang and take them to the Hongshunshanzhuan Brainwashing Center. Between April and August 2004, he took practitioner Ms. Li Fangling to the Xinjin Brainwashing Center in Chengdu City and also apprehended Ms. Shi Lanfang again and took her to Hanlinshanzhuan Brainwashing Center.

From September 30 to October 30, 2007, Liu Hong again used a web of deceit to arrest practitioners Ms. Shi Lanfang (72 years old), Ms. Zhang Cifang (72 years old) and Ms. Li Fangling (in her sixties). He took them to Hongshunshanzhang Brainwashing Center.

After these three practitioners were detained in the brainwashing center, they were closely monitored around the clock and forced to watch videos that slandered Falun Gong. Oftentimes, they were faced with one or more people who continually yelled at them and tried to brainwash them. They were often verbally abused and beaten. The Judicial Bureau deputy director, Chen Decai, once cruelly beat Ms. Shi Lanfang.

In the brainwashing center, those in charge reduced the amount of food given to these practitioners. The practitioners also had limited time to eat, to wash clothes and to sleep. They even had a set time for using the bathroom. The people in the brainwashing center used various methods to exhaust the practitioners. One time, because Ms. Shi Lanfang was in the bathroom longer than her allowed time, the director of the 610 Office, Chen Jiuyun, ordered a male security guard to break into the bathroom and drag her out.

On one occasion, Ms. Zhang Cifang sat down a little bit longer than permitted and the personal cangue (who was ordered by Liu Hong to watch her) said that she was doing the Falun Gong exercises and screamed at her. Another time Liu Hong said, "I don't have a gun, but if I had one, I would shoot you."

These personal cangues also kept the door and windows shut around the clock. They lit poisonous mosquito incense and then ran out of the room, and watched Ms. Zhang Cifang through the windows. The poisonous smoke caused Ms. Zhang Cifang to cough badly. When she tried to open the door a little bit, the personal cangues closed it immediately. The agony was intolerable.

Ms. Zhang Cifang didn't have a change of clothes. She asked for clothes several times, and they finally allowed her to get some. Someone brought her two pairs of new socks and asked Liu Hong to take them to her. Liu Hong kept them for himself. So during the month she was in the brainwashing center, Ms. Zhang Cifang had only one pair of socks.

Ms. Zong Xiuxia Dies Suddenly under Police Custody in Shandong Province

(Clearwisdom.net) On February 22, 2008, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zong Xiuxia was arrested, and she died on the same day. Her body has been frozen, and details are yet to be investigated.

Ms. Zong Xiuxia lived in the Fangzi District in Weifang City, Shandong Province. On February 22, 2008, she went shopping at the Jialejia Supermarket. She kindly clarified the truth to people on her way, and as a result she was forcibly taken to the Guangwen Police Station in Kuiwen District at around 11:30 a.m. Police from the Guangwen Station said they took Ms. Zong to the Weifang City People's Hospital for a physical check-up at around 1:00 p.m. However, Ms. Zong died at 3:00 p.m.

It was 9:00 p.m. when the police notified her family, saying they had found her checkbook in her handbag and thus found her address and name. The police said that Ms. Zong died from jumping out of the elevator in the hospital.

We find this very unreasonable, for three police officers were watching her in the hospital. How could she jump out of the elevator in a crowded hospital in the middle of the afternoon? If it was true, why weren't there any witnesses? Why wouldn't they allow her family to meet with the three officers? Why did they take her for a physical so soon after she was arrested? Why didn't they notify her family sooner? What happened in the Guangwen Police Station before they took her to the hospital?

After only four hours, a perfectly healthy, upstanding person died under police custody, and it took six hours for them to notify her family. We hope that people of justice will help uncover more information.

Wuhan Police Forcibly Barge Into "Winter Study Camp" and Detain Teachers, Parents and Children

(Clearwisdom.net) On February 11, 2008, a group of parents, children and teachers were holding a "winter study camp" activity at the Chailin Hotel in the Yujiatou Community, Wuchang District of Wuhan City. The focus of their activity was to study the principle of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance and how to apply the principle in daily life in order to be a good person. In the afternoon, more than 10 police officers from the first Division of the Wuhan Police Department led by the Division Chief Lu, barged into Room 906 of the Chailin Hotel and illegally detained teachers Ms. Chen Man, Ms. Xiong Yingzhi, a dozen or so children and some of the parents.

The police videotaped the children and the parents. A dozen or so children were isolated from their parents and the police shouted at the children whose parents were not present. The children were threatened and tricked into telling the police details about their parents and other children. Many children were so frightened that they cried. Most of the parents and children revealed their addresses or were recognized by the police. Elementary student Li Feiyang did not give out his parent's name, but told the police his school - Huapo Road Elementary School. Li Feiyang's mother loudly reprimanded the police for their wrongful conduct. Only when relatives objected strongly were the children allowed to return home.

That day the police arrested five Falun Gong practitioners. Among them, Ms. Chen Man and Ms. Xiong Yingzhi were detained; the three other practitioners were released from the local police station the same day.

On the morning of February 19, 2008, the police from the First Division of the Wuhan Police Department used the excuse of holding a parents meeting for the freshman classes of Huapo Road Elementary School, to deceive Li Feiyang's mother into coming to the school. She was then forcibly taken to the Yangyuan Community Brainwashing Center in the Wuchang District of Wuhan City.

On February 19, a group of policeman rushed into Ms. Hu Huifang's home in Qingshan District and arrested her.

On the evening of February 20, 2008, large numbers of 610 Office personnel were closely monitoring Ms. Liu Hong's home in Shishang Xindu Neighborhood in an attempt to arrest her and her son, Shi Xiu. Ms. Liu Hong's husband, Shi Lei, was sentenced to 11 years of imprisonment in 2003 by the Wuhan City 610 Office, which conspired with the Wuhan Municipal Intermediate Court of the Chinese Communist Party. Mr. Shi is currently imprisoned at Shayang Farm.

Ms. Chen Man and Ms. Xiong Yingzhi are detained in the Erzhigou Area, Dongxihu District. Li Feiyang's mother is imprisoned at the Yangyuan Community Brainwashing Center. Ms. Hu Huifang is imprisoned at an unknown location.

More Than a Dozen Shanghai Practitioners Arrested at Home While Watching the Chinese New Year Splendor on NTDTV

(Clearwisdom.net) At around 9:00 a.m. on February 22, 2008, more than one dozen practitioners were arrested while watching the NTDTV Chinese New Year Splendor in Mr. Ma Guobiao's home. Police ransacked the home and detained Mr. Ma and his parents at the Jiading District Detention Center. The remaining practitioners are being detained at their home district detention centers.

The NTDTV Chinese New Year Splendor is performed by Divine Performing Arts to promote five thousand years of genuine traditional Chinese culture. The arrest of Mr. Ma's family and other practitioners is an example of how Chinese people do not have the right to watch this show in the privacy of their own homes. These arrests also show that the CCP is fearful of the public watching this performance. We call upon people of the world to express their concern and condemn these human rights violations in China.

Facts about the Persecution of Dai Xiaoping at the Wangcun Women's Forced Labor Camp in Shandong Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Dai Xiaoping, a resident of the Kuiwen District in Weifang City, Shandong Province, was incarcerated in the Wangcun Women's Forced Labor Camp in the fall of 2001. That is where I got to know her. As soon as she arrived, she was sent to the most vicious Division No. 5. As she was very steadfast, she was locked up in a solitary cell and made to undergo "reformation" for long periods of time. Several people took turns monitoring her.

As practitioners Dai Xiaoping and Shao Yongmei from the Zhaoyuan area refused to cooperate with the unreasonable demands of the police, the guards used sleep deprivation as a means of torture for extended periods of time, sometimes for several months. The two of them were separated and locked up in solitary cells. They were bombarded with slander and false propaganda around the clock.

Ms. Dai Xiaoping's husband was physically abused until he became partially paralyzed on one side of his body. He could not attend to his daily needs or take care of their school-aged daughter. Even so, Ms. Dai Xiaoping still persists in her cultivation. As she showed no signs of giving in, No. 5 Division head Qu Xiuying said, "In order to try to 'reform' Dai Xiaoping, I had to personally talk to her on a one to one basis more than 200 times."

Qu Xiuying asked for suggestions from other guards, but they were all in vain. The guards tried to use Ms. Dai's mother to get leverage on her, but failed. They gave her a birthday cake and Chinese New Year present in an act of false kindness, but that did not fool her, either. None of the strict monitoring, torture devices, threats and beatings worked. Ms. Dai Xiaoping reasoned with them and pointed out from a legal perspective that what they were doing is against the law.

The guards became more determined to brainwash her. They locked her up and tortured her more cruelly. They vowed that if they did not succeed, they would never let Ms. Dai go. She was isolated from the rest of the incarcerated practitioners. A few months later, I heard that she became paralyzed on one side of her body, and her life was in danger. Some officers became worried that they would be held responsible for her death and transferred out. Dai Xiaoping was severely abused at the Wangcun Women's Forced Labor Camp for more than a year before she managed to get out. She seemed to have aged a lot in that one year, her face getting more wrinkled and her hair turning white.

Ms. Dai Xiaoping's husband was Mou Naiwu, an outstanding teacher at Weifang College. His employers have withheld his salary since October 1999 because he practiced Falun Gong. He became partially paralyzed from cruel persecution and abuse in 2000, and he died on June 13, 2004 as a result of the persecution.

Ms. Dai Xiaoping was fired from the Weifang No. 2 Printing and Dying Factory in October 1999 for her practice of Falun Gong. She lost her source of income, and she and her daughter are in dire circumstances.

Ms. Dai was once again illegally detained at the same camp in November 2007, and we have no details on her current situation.

Mr. Wang Hongshu Taken Into Custody And Beaten Savagely by Officers of Diaobingshan City

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Wang Hongshu is a 50-year-old practitioner. At about 5 a.m. on January 17, 2008, when he was on his way to his sister's home in Faku County, he was intercepted by a car without any license plate. There were two people in the car. They did not show any ID and were not in police uniform. After they discovered that Mr. Wang was a Falun Gong practitioner, they dragged him against his will and tried to force him into the car. Mr. Wang tried to clarify the truth about Dafa to them. They said, "Do not talk with us about this. We must seize you." Mr. Wang refused to cooperate with them, so they beat him savagely. As a result, one of Mr. Wang's front teeth was knocked out, and another became loose, his face became blue and purple and his left eye filled with an abnormally large amount of blood. They held Mr. Wang to the ground for approximately 15 minutes. One of them then called for a police car and forced Mr. Wang into the car and took him to the Police Department.

At the Police Department, a body search was conducted. Before the search, he had 275 yuan cash on him. After the search, there was only 75 yuan left. The 200 yuan disappeared without a trace. At about 8 a.m., Mr. Wang was taken to the office of State Security. Mr. Wang clarified the truth about Dafa to the officers there. Instead of listening to him, they berated him and beat him savagely. Mr. Wang felt so much pain in his waist that he could not stand up. Officer Wang Xueping (male) handcuffed Mr. Wang's hands behind his back. Mr. Wang could not help but tumbling on the bed due to the pain. His handcuffs weren't removed until two hours later.

Mr. Wang continued to clarify the truth about Dafa to the officers. When taking notes of their conversation, officer Zhang Fenglai (male) asked him with whom he had contact. Mr. Wang replied, "as a Falun Gong practitioner, I will not betray any good person." Because of this, Mr. Wang was detained for 15 days.

Since July 20, 1999, Mr. Wang had been subjected to persecution many times. Consequently, his lower limbs developed paralysis, and his lower back had to be fixed with a steel plate. This time, he was taken into custody without any reason and beaten savagely. Due to the beating, the steel plate dislodged. His chest developed serious pain, his throat swelled so much that he could not eat, and he fell into a coma twice.

It wasn't until the fifth day of Mr. Wang being critically ill that the police allowed Mr. Wang to be taken to the hospital for a check-up. He had to be lifted into the taxi by his family members and four cell mates. The doctors discovered that the dislocation of the steel plate in his back caused it to press heavily onto his lower limbs, his chest swelled with fluids and his throat was too swollen to eat. Since Mr. Wang could not afford the medical fee, he had to go home to recover.

Due to several years of persecution, Mr. Wang's family was extremely poor. This time, after he was taken into custody without any reason, Zheng Fenglai, the director of the State Security Division, and Wang Xueping, the deputy director, still extorted 3,000 yuan cash from his family without any receipt.

Practitioners Force-Fed Drugs, Exposed to Swarms of Mosquitoes at No. 2 Women's Prison in Yunnan Province

By a Falun Dafa practitioner in Yunnan Province

(Clearwisdom.net) A Falun Dafa practitioner who was recently released from the No. 2 Women's Prison in Yunnan Province revealed that the prison guards forced every imprisoned Falun Dafa practitioner to give up her belief by being "transformed". All of the practitioners were forced to have their blood pressure taken. Subsequently, they were told that they had high blood pressure and needed to take drugs and receive injections. Nerve-damaging drugs were administered for long periods of time.

One day a guard told a practitioner to take her "medicine." The practitioner replied that she was not sick and did not need to take it. The guard then ordered the inmates to force her to take it. When the inmates told the guard that the practitioner refused, the guard said, "You must find a way to force her to take it." The inmates pushed the practitioner down and immobilized her head, hands, and feet. One inmate held her chest down with her knees, pried open her mouth and force-fed the medicine. The practitioner almost lost consciousness.

One practitioner heard another practitioner in the next cell say, "I am not sick and I will not take the medicine. Falun Dafa is good." Sounds of chaos erupted in the cell accompanied by a lot of banging. After a while, an inmate who participated in the commotion came by saying to herself, "A person who was beaten to death in the prison was treated worse than a fly."

One day a practitioner was practicing the sitting exercise. An inmate reported her to the guard. The guard put the practitioner in handcuffs and shocked her chin and her shoulder with an electric baton. She was confined in a small cell (1) for over one month.

The No. 2 Women's Prison is located near a forested mountainous region that is host to swarms of mosquitoes. Most inmates are allowed to use mosquito nets while they sleep. However, Falun Gong practitioners are not allowed to use the mosquito nets. One night, a practitioner could not endure the mosquitoes and pulled over a corner of an inmate's mosquito net to cover her face. She was confined in a small cell for over one month. An elderly practitioner was so badly bitten she had bite wounds all over her face. Ms. Shen Yueping, a practitioner from Yuxi City, suffers with a swollen body from the torture she received. There were many other practitioners that were tortured until their bodies were swollen.

When the inmates in No. 2 Women's Prison are not happy, they lash out in anger towards practitioners. The practitioners are often physically beaten and verbally abused for no apparent reason by those inmates. One day an inmate pulled out a handful of hair from a practitioner. Inmates that saw the incident laughed hysterically.

Note:
(1) Small cell - The detainee is confined alone in a very small cell. The guards handcuff the practitioner behind her back in a fixed position, so that she can neither move nor lie down. The small cell is very damp and no sunshine comes in. A bucket in the cell serves as the toilet. Only half of a regular meal is served each day. During the night rats run around. The stench in the small cell is so bad that it is difficult to breathe.

"Restricted Rooms" Used to Torture Practitioners at Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp in Changchun, Jilin Province

(Clearwisdom.net) The authorities at Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp in Changchun send steadfast practitioners to "restricted rooms" in attempts to force them to write the so-called guarantee statement. The "restricted rooms" are in a secret location and not easy to find. Any remote room can become a "restricted room," as long as the room is equipped with a wooden bed, handcuffs, and a special belt.

The wooden bed in these rooms supports only a very thin sleeping pad. The guards handcuff a practitioner's hands to the corners of the headboard, then use two specially-manufactured leather belts from underneath the bed to tie the practitioner's knees so as to restrict all movement. Someone constantly monitors the practitioner and forces the her to eat, drink, and relieve herself on the bed for days at a time. The victims are not allowed to clean their faces, hair, feet, or teeth. Not even during menstruation do officials permit the practitioner to be released for personal hygiene. During the entire time, guards and instructors show up one after another, attempting to coerce the practitioner into writing the guarantee statement [promising to abandon the practice]. If they are unsuccessful, they humiliate the practitioner further and verbally abuse her. Then they send collaborators to try to persuade her not to make trouble for the regime or the guards. If the practitioner still refuses to write the statement, the authorities urge the collaborators to use every means of torture on the practitioner, including tightening the belts, no longer providing drinking water, depriving the practitioner of sleep, removing the comforter, and restricting her from relieving herself, trying to break her spirit and make her submit.

To avoid leaving any evidence, they wrap the practitioner's wrists with soft cloth before handcuffing her wrists so as to not leave any marks. However, the torture is so brutal that the practitioner is often handicapped before long. In addition, lying down without a pillow for days makes one feel dizzy and hurt everywhere, and even causes absent-mindedness. Some practitioners cannot stand this torture for more than three days before they agree--against their will--to write the so-called "guarantee statement."

The Inhuman Tortures I Have Suffered in the Past Eight Years

(Clearwisdom.net) On July 23, 1999, I was taken to the Changxing Police Station in Beizhen City, Liaoning Province. He Jinglong, the vice head of the police station, threatened me without reason and forced me to write a guarantee statement. On August 13, Lu Zhenfu and others from the Political and Security Section "illegally detained" me for twenty-six days and extorted over five hundred yuan from me.

In January 2001, Yang Chunpeng and others from the Changxing Police Station deceived me under the guise of "approaching me for more information," and forced me go to the police station. They then illegally detained me in the Beizhen Lockup without following any legal procedures. On the next day, I was transferred to the Beizhen Detention Center. Because I did not cooperate with their attempts to torture me, a female guard by the name of An Bo violently slapped my face with the bottom of a shoe. During my hunger strike, I was unlawfully interrogated and threatened many, many times. The head of the group instigated some male criminals to handcuff my hands to a radiator and a bed railing. One criminal forced a filthy tooth brush into my mouth, and jerked it around while constantly insulting me. Xu Dongbiao, the head of the group, incited several male criminals to savagely force-feed me with rice soup that had several large spoons of salt added. One of my lower teeth fell out when they used a handcuff to force my mouth open, and my teeth on two sides were severely loosened, and can no longer be fixed. They then illegally sentenced me in the detention center. During the appealing period when I strongly demanded to appeal for myself, I was unlawfully transferred to Masanjia Detention Center and was continuously persecuted there.

In Masanjia Detention Center, because I refused to give up my practice, I was forbidden to sleep or use the toilet for a long period of time. Many people insulted and beat me, and even ripped out my hair. They savagely force-fed me with a tube inserted into my nose and down my throat. They put unidentified drugs into the the food that they force-fed me with, and as a result, I had diarrhea multiple times, my body had no strength, I was absent-minded and talked senselessly, and I even lost my memory. Even though I was in such poor condition, at least six criminals firmly pressed on my legs, hands and head, and constantly tortured me with a variety of means and eventually caused me to pass out for a long time.

In March 2001, several people twisted both of my arms to my back and pulled my arms until they could no longer move. Then they pulled my legs straight and pressed my head against the ground, and let a criminal who weighed over sixty-five kilograms sit on my lower back for a long time. In April, the head of the group, Shao Li, instigated people to drag me into a public bathing pool at 10:00 p.m. After they stuffed a towel into my mouth, they pressed me onto the pool drainage's concrete reinforcing bars, and five people forcibly pulled my arms and legs to my back and made them overlap each other. Then they used force to press on my body. One of the instigators told the evildoers not to keep constant pressure on me without moving, because it would cause my body to become numb and I would not feel any pain. By pressing for some time, then releasing, and pressing again, they were able to inflict more pain without causing any noticeable bruises or scars on my body.

After some time, they said that I seemed "too comfortable," so they again pulled my hands toward my back to the extreme, pulled my legs forward with force, and pressed my head down between my legs. Five people then pressed on my head, arms and legs. On that one night, fifteen people participated in persecuting and torturing me. They did not move their hands off of me until dawn when the joints on both sides of my jaw dislocated because of the towel that was stuffed into my mouth. The guard took me to the hospital to have my jaw fixed and lied to the doctor in the bone department, saying that my joints were dislocated when I was reporting my number during the routine morning check.

This cruel torture caused many injuries on my body. For one month, I could not take off my clothing before going to bed. I could not walk independently, and I had constant vaginal bleeding every day for fifteen months. It took a very long time for me to recover. In April 2002, three guards instigated six collaborators to tie my hands behind my back using ropes made from cloth strips, and press me down onto the ground for a long time.

The above is only a portion of the physical abuse that I have suffered during the long period of being illegally imprisoned. The mental and physical persecution that Falun Gong practitioners suffer is inhuman and so evil that it cannot not be described in human language.

Falun Gong Practitioners Illegally Arrested, Harassed

(Clearwisdom.net) In January 2008, local police officers arrested practitioner Mr. Jiang Linying Baoshan Sitang District and also raided his home.

After clarifying the truth of Falun Gong in 2001, Mr. Jiang Linying was sentenced to three years of imprisonment. He was persecuted very badly. Local police have harassed him since then, and as stated above, re-arrested him.

Practitioner Ms. Hu Yufang, 76 years old, lives in the Putuo District, Shanghai. Two years ago she openly announced her withdrawal from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Since then her life has not been easy. A CCP operative in the residential committee often comes to her home and threatens her. Her home was raided at the end of 2007. She was taken to the police station and threatened with further imprisonment.

Some other practitioners also were harassed. Seventy-three-year old Ms. Chen Ling was also unable to live a peaceful life. Persons from the residential committee often interrogated her, "Did you go out today? Did you go to his or her home?" Residential committee Party secretary Ji asked her, "Is Falun Gong good, or is the Chinese Communist Party good?" Ms. Chen Ling was held in a detention center five years ago, owing to her practicing Falun Gong. They handcuffed her, forced her to be photographed and provide her fingerprints. The mental torment she suffered was enormous. Her teeth all fell out and her hair turned white. Four generations in her family were affected. Her husband was frightened so badly that he could not eat anything. Her four-year-old old grandson got sick from fear of the police. Her neighbors said indignantly, "Such a nice lady was arrested and her home raided, just because of practicing Falun Gong!"

Until recently, the local police station and residential committee still dispatched people to watch the practitioners. Policemen Wang Xiaokun and Zheng Guofu even went to harass practitioners.

Middle School Teacher Zhang Minghui from Jidong County, Heilongjiang Province, Recently Arrested, His Wife and Baby Forced into Homelessness

(Clearwisdom.net)

On January 25, policemen from the National Security Bureau of the Jidong County Police Department, Heilongjiang Province, burst into the home of Mr. Zhang Minghui. Disregarding the safety of the older people and a baby, who was just a couple of months old, they grabbed personal property and took Mr. Zhang away to the police station.

Mr. Zhang Minghui, 36 years old, was a middle school teacher from Yonghe Town, Jidong County. He started practicing Falun Gong in 1995.

On January 25, 2008, at about 7:00 a.m., National Security Team personnel from the Jidong County Police Department and other police officers went to the home of a practitioner with the last name Mu. They were unable to arrest Mu, so they instead went to Zhang Minghui's house and knocked on his back door. Mr. Zhang's mother opened the door to four men. They identified themselves as police officers and said, "We want information about Falun Gong from Zhang Minghui." After they saw Mr. Zhang in the home, they said to him, "Hand over your Falun Gong materials." He clarified the truth to them, but the police once again demanded that he hand over any Falun Gong materials. One policeman twisted Mr. Zhang's arm and the other two pushed him to the ground and handcuffed him. Mr. Zhang's wife saw her husband being humiliated and beaten by the police and tried to help him, but the police officers stopped her. His wife shouted for help and their sister-in-law, who lived in the same area, soon arrived. The policemen ordered her to take the baby away.

Zhang Minghui's wife saw the police handcuff her husband and then they turned on her. She tried to protect herself but she was pushed down to the floor, dragged to the kitchen, and badly beaten. The policemen made phone calls 20 minutes later, and more than ten policemen arrived. They slapped Mr. Zhang's wife, making her lips bleed.

After that, the policemen jimmied the window of the bedroom and searched the room. The took away the following items: two copies of Zhuan Falun and three other Dafa books, a VCD player, a laminator, a binding machine, a paper-cutting machine, two notebook computers, one desktop computer, three ink cartridges, four cell phones (Mr. Zhang had fixed them for somebody else), some printing paper, over 100 spring couplets, a tool bag that contained over 100 DVDs, a bank savings card that had 4,500 yuan that Zhang Minghui's sister had left in his house, and other goods.

The police took Zhang Minghui to the National Security Team of the county police department and cruelly tortured him. The next day, somebody saw that Mr. Zhang hands were so swollen due to the torture that he could not tie his pants up.

On January 26, as a result of police threats and harassment, Zhang Minghui's wife and her eight-month-old son left home and became homeless.

My Ordeal at the Suihua Forced Labor Camp in Heilongjiang Province (Photos)

By Falun Dafa practitioner Xu Yushan

(Clearwisdom.net) My name is Xu Yushan. I'm a Falun Dafa practitioner in Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province.

On June 27, 2006, when I took a train in Jiamusi City to return to Shuangcheng City, railway police officers arrested me at a security checkpoint because they found a Dafa book and five Dafa articles in my possession. I was sent to the Jiamusi Railway Detention Center and held for one month. Then I was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor on July 27, 2006 and immediately sent to the Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp. On October 10, 2006, I was transferred to the Heilongjiang Province "Reform" Base, actually the Suihua Forced Labor Camp. I was released on November 9, 2007.

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) always deceives people with lies, such as "humane management is implemented in prisons; there is no beating and scolding, and no persecution of Falun Gong practitioners takes place in detention." Here I will expose what I have suffered during the forced labor period and expose the evil actions behind the so-called "humane management."

I kept clarifying the truth at the labor camp. During breakfast on the morning of November 20, 2006, I called out, "Guards and staff members, please do not be fooled. Falun Dafa is the righteous Fa. There are practitioners in over 80 countries worldwide. Thousands practice freely in Taiwan and Hong Kong. Falun Dafa is good!"

The guards set upon me. I was immediately kicked and punched, and later beaten again in the division office. When they tried to hang me onto the upper railing of a bunk bed in the cell, I struggled not to cooperate with them. Team leader Diao Xuesong viciously kicked my lower abdomen so fiercely that I immediately fell to the floor, bathed in sweat. I don't know how long it was before I finally recovered. They hung me between two beds. Later on, Diao Xuesong fabricated a claim that I attempted to practice the Falun Gong exercises and then sent me to a solitary confinement cell for seven days.

The solitary confinement was a room less than four-square-meters, with a metal chair in the middle. There was a three-inch metal board under the chair. The room was gloomy. I was forced to sit in the chair, handcuffed and shackled. A belt across my chest prevented any movement or let me lower my head. A tape player with auto rewind and replay function ran twenty-four hours a day. They inserted earphones into my ears. I was forced to listen to the tape non-stop. The brainwashing content was played extremely loud. After several attempts I finally removed one of the earphones. When the guards discovered this, they taped both of my hands tightly, causing my hands to swell severely. They also tied my upper chest with the cloth strips so tight that I was unable to move. My feet were badly swollen. Two days later, my hands and feet started bleeding. The abusers still tied my hands tightly. The metal chair was very cold to sit on, and my hands tied onto the chair arms were numb and cold. I felt extreme pain and discomfort. Three days later, since I still refused to yield, guards incited the assigned monitors (prisoners Chen XX and Guan Changfu) to torture me. They dumped a bag of hair cut from others into my underclothes against my skin and then put a special heavy cotton hat over my head. It covered my eyes. It was so hot that I started to sweat. The hair made me itch unbearably. I wanted to scratch or rub, but was unable to move my hands, my feet or my chest.

During the time for the restroom break on the second day in the solitary confinement cell, the monitors said they didn't have the key to release me from the chair but they could bring a spittoon for me to urinate in. I felt a little embarrassed and said I didn't need to go to the restroom. However, they started to unbutton my pants. They pulled my genitals out and rubbed something on it. They didn't let me urinate, but just buttoned my pants and left. About ten minutes later I felt excruciating pain in my genitals and I almost lost consciousness. I spent the whole night in painful spasms. Next day they continued to do the same thing. Then I saw clearly what they put on my genitalia. It was tobacco powder that was used in a long-stemmed Chinese pipe.

When the seven-day term ended I still didn't yield to them. Division deputy Liu Wei said it was time to treat me with fiber-glass. The fiber-glass is used for the outside covering of electric wires and also used to make asbestos tile or sheets. That night, monitor Song Xiaojun stuffed a bag of fiberglass all over my body. My hands, feet and chest were tied. I couldn't sit down; if I did, I felt like I was sitting on a needle cushion. I felt extreme pain and itching, which was so unbearable that even death seemed to be the lesser of two evils.

I was weak and skeleton-like from a hunger strike. I was given medicine and milk powder to recover faster. However, it was a scheme. On July 24, 2007, when my health had just improved a little bit, they couldn't wait any more and tortured me again. Section head Bai Jiuyi brought four people from No. 2 Division to torture me. They were division political head Gao Zhonghai, division deputy Liu Wei, team leader Diao Xuesong, and team leader Li Chengcun. Around 8:00 a.m. that day they came to my bed. After they confirmed my stance toward Falun Gong they said, "It seems you are not afraid of death. We will not let you die, but will make you live in a state worse than death. We just want to play with you. When we are tired of playing we will make you completely disabled. Then we let you go home and die at home several days later. The higher-placed officials in the labor camp bureau know you and so do those in other divisions. They all support us to play with you. They will take the responsibility. Since someone else takes responsibility, let us play. We fed you well to help you recover, because we want to play well with you!"

They ordered the monitor to drag me to the other cell. Four men with their shirts off were waiting inside, ready to torture me. They strapped cloth over my mouth to prevent me from crying out, which caused me to lose two front teeth. They fixed a tape player on my body and inserted the earphone into my ears. It loudly played brainwashing propaganda. Then I was handcuffed behind my back and hung from the upper railing of a bunk bed. My feet barely touched the floor. The administration section head arrived to check. He was not satisfied and said, "If you insert a block in the upper railing, his feet can't touch the floor." He repeatedly said, "This enforcement is not enough!"

They constantly berated me. Sometimes they pulled me up by my hair; sometimes they kicked my private parts and twisted my arms. They repeatedly put a lit cigarette into my nose, badly burning the outside of my nostrils, leaving scars. I still feel pain in my nose now. The cigarette smoke kept entering my lungs. They said it was to make my lungs black and to have me get pulmonary tuberculosis or even lung cancer. I still cough a lot even now. They kept smearing the hottest chili on my eyes, ears, anus, and genitalia. They didn't stop when seeing my genitalia starting to bleed. When I lost conscious due to the torture, they threw cold water on me to bring me to. They used cigarettes to burn my toenails and fingernails. I still feel pain in my right little finger.

They also covered my head with two layers of plastic bags and filled them with smoke. When the air and smoke was absorbed, I was dripping with sweat. They would remove the bags after seeing I was unable to hold on any more and allowed me to breathe again. Then they repeated the same torture.

I was tortured in such a way for six hours daily. At night I was cuffed to a bed with bare bed boards, without covers. My feet were tied with cloth strips, which made me unable to move. I was a skeleton, and the hard bed was painful to lie on.

This is the so-called humane management in the forced labor camp; such torture happened openly and unscrupulously at the Suihua Forced Labor Camp. The monitors and prison guards all knew about it. These facts are undeniable. I hope by exposing these criminal acts it might help people to realize: the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners is real.

Ms. Li Li Recovers from Brain Tumor, Then Is Persecuted to Death by the CCP

By a Falun Dafa practitioner in Beijing

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Li Li was from Lishu County, Jilin Province. In January 2001, Ms. Li went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of the good name of Falun Gong. She was illegally arrested in August. She was then detained in the Fangshan Detention Center in Beijing. After six months of brutal torture, Ms. Li died on February 1, 2002.

Li Li, 35, was a cashier for a road construction project in Lishu County, Jilin Province. She had a brain tumor in 1991, which was a big burden for her family. She started to practice Falun Gong in 1996, and her illness disappeared. After the persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999, Ms. Li went to Beijing many times to clarify the facts about Falun Gong. She went to Beijing in 1999 and was sentenced to forced labor. She was treated inhumanely in the forced labor camp.

In 2002, she tried to escape the harassment of 610 Office agents and went to Beijing to continue to clarify the facts about Falun Gong. On July 4, 2001, someone reported her to the police. As a result, she was arrested and detained in Fangshan Detention Center. In August, 2001, agents from the 610 Office of the Fangshan District transferred her to the Fangshan District Brainwashing Center, where she was tortured. In October 2001, she went on a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention. The guards brutally force fed her. The guards often beat her, and she had to be sent to the hospital for emergency treatment.

In December 2001, Ms. Li was transferred from the Police Station Hospital to be tried in a Fangshan Court. She was emaciated and had to receive an infusion. She was sentenced to seven years in prison.

According to detention center employees, she was later detained in a room at a restaurant, where six "staff members" tried to force her to give up her belief in Falun Gong. She was brutally beaten.

Ms. Li Li passed away on February 1, 2002.

Mr. Shen Hailong Sentenced to Eighteen Years of Imprisonment and Transferred to Nanguanling Prison in Dalian City

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Shen Hailong, a practitioner from Anshan City, Liaoning Province, was sentenced to 18 years of imprisonment because he participated in broadcasting Falun Gong truth-clarifying messages via satellite. Recently he was transferred to Nanguanling Prison from Wafangdian Prison in Dalian City. In Wafangdian Prison, he was brutally tortured.

Nanguanling Prison is a notorious prison. In the past month, practitioner Mr. Bai Heguo, who was transferred there, was brutally tortured to death. Another Anshan practitioner, Wang Hongnan, was tortured to death in the past, but no one was ever implicated in his death.

Mr. Shen Hailong is 32 years old. In 2001, in order to let more people know the facts about Falun Gong, he, Ms. Zhang Li, and others broadcast messages via satellite. Practitioners who participated in this incident were arrested at different times. Ms. Zhang Li was tortured by the Anshan Police Department. Her legs were broken and she passed away at the Anshan Central Hospital. Mr. Xu Zhaobin was wounded by gun shots and was arrested in another city after he recovered from his wounds. Mr. Shen was sentenced to 18 years' imprisonment after his arrest.

At first, they were detained in Wafangdian Prison in Dalian City. Recently, in order to deal with an international investigation, Wafangdian Prison officials transferred the practitioners to other prisons. Mr. Shen Hailong was transferred to Nanguanling Prison, where he is forced to sew clothes and work from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day. The prison also brainwashes him. The prison guards are very aggressive. They went to his parents' home and harassed them, asking, "Who still practices Falun Gong?" They intended to push Mr. Shen's family members to the prison so as to pressure him.

When Mr. Shen Hailong was arrested, his child was just two years old. His wife was in poor health and had to rely on his parents to subsist. His child would often cry in front of his picture.

Practitioners Brutally Persecuted in Brainwashing Sessions in Huaihua City, Hunan Province

(Clearwisdom.net)
In the latter half of 2007, under direct orders from the Huaihua City 610 Office and Hunan Province, Huaihua City authorities held another brainwashing session to brutally persecute Falun Gong practitioners. The following are some of the persecution methods used against practitioners in attempts to force them to renounce Falun Gong: forcing practitioners to watch videotapes and cartoons slandering Falun Gong, holding meetings attacking Falun Gong, and holding classes to spread lies to slander Falun Gong. They also used threats to force Falun Gong practitioners to write the three statements to give up their practice. They beat, handcuffed, hung up and verbally abused practitioners who remained steadfast in their belief.

The "brainwashing class" is located in a bankrupt printing factory in Yingkou Township of the Tianhu Economic Development Region in Huaihua City, Hunan Province. There are no signs at the front gate and it is enclosed by walls. It is a four-story, two-unit building with a total of sixteen rooms to be used as the "transformation base."

From September to November, the Hunan Province and Huaihua City 610 Office transferred people from different area 610 Offices, political and legal departments, police stations, national security departments and other agencies and ordered them to monitor detained Falun Gong practitioners. At the brainwashing center, each Falun Gong practitioner was kept in one room, with two people monitoring each practitioner. At the same time, they arranged for two teams of agents from the Provincial Prison Management Bureau and Provincial Forced Labor Bureau to conduct brainwashing sessions on Falun Gong practitioners.

Chenxi County is the most severe in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. Since mid-September, Zhai Xiaoming, head of the 610 Office in Chenxi County, and Li Huimeng, Wei Minggai, Luo Jianhe and others have arrested over ten local Falun Gong practitioners and sent them to Huaihua for brainwashing sessions.

On September 20, while practitioner Yu Shaoqi was at work, Zhai Xiaoming led Wei Minggai, Luo Jianhe and others to break into Mr. Yu's office. They forcibly dragged him downstairs, pushed him into a car and sent him to the brainwashing center in Huaihua. They tell practitioners' relatives that they are sending the practitioners away for "study" and assure them that they live very well. In reality, the practitioners suffer brutal torture and are viciously beaten.

Mr. Yu Shaoqi is disabled. He was handcuffed by Li Huimeng and Luo Jianhe to a window for several hours. He began a hunger strike to protest the persecution, which lasted more than 20 days. Wei Minggai tortured Mr. Yu from 11:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Yu Shaoqi's nose was bleeding and his body was covered with injuries. Finally, Wei handcuffed Mr. Yu in an extremely painful position with one hand brought over his shoulder and the other hand from behind the back. Wei also used a cigarette butt to burn Mr. Yu and struck his back with handcuffs. He kicked and stepped on Yu's disabled foot to further torture him.

They tore off his underwear and plucked out his pubic hair and stuffed them into his mouth. They injured his penis by pulling on it and made it swell with pus. They poked his pubic area with keys, which made Mr. Yu scream in agony.

In another severe case of persecution, practitioner Ms. Gong Huamei was sent to the brainwashing center in Huaihua. She began vomiting blood eight days after she started a protest hunger strike. She refused to cooperate with the "transformation" efforts. Lan Xiaoming from the county 610 Office went to the room where she was detained and threatened her by saying that if she would not agree to be "transformed", they would have Wei Xiaoming rape her. Gong Huamei righteously and sternly replied, "Do you have a mother and sisters at home? Would you treat them like this?" Wei Xiaoming left in anger.

Practitioner Liu Yuan was brutally beaten because he kept shouting, "Falun Dafa is good" at the brainwashing session. Li Huimeng, the assistant head of Chenxi County's 610 Office, and Luo Jianhe, Wei Minggai and others beat Liu Yuan about the head and body. Finally, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., they handcuffed him to a window frame with his feet barely touching the floor. They threatened him by saying that they would send him to a forced labor camp or mental hospital for further persecution if he would not be "transformed".

Falun Gong practitioner Ou Jiafa, over 60 years old, also suffered brutal persecution. They tried to force him to write "guarantee letters" but Mr. Ou told them, "I would die before I wrote that."

Finally, the perpetrators forced Falun Gong practitioners' family members or work units to pay several thousand yuan, and then released them one after another.

Persecution-Related Deaths of 150 Falun Gong Practitioners Verified in 2007

(Clearwisdom.net) The deaths of 150 Falun Gong practitioners as a result of persecution were verified through non-governmental channels in 2007, and 123 of those deaths took place in 2007. Among them, women practitioners and practitioners over the age of 50 each accounted for 53.3 percent of the cases. During the eight-and-a-half years of persecution between July 20, 1999, and December 31, , by the Chinese Communist regime, a total of 3,121 Falun Gong practitioners' deaths have been verified.

This represents a very small percentage of what is really happening in this brutal persecution. A much larger number of practitioners are missing, and some have had their organs harvested for profit while still alive and their corpses incinerated. These crimes are covered up by tight restrictions on information and the Communist regime's best efforts to hide the facts.

The Beijing Olympics are only one year away. The Communist regime has not implemented its promise of improving human rights. Instead, it has launched another intensive wave of persecution in the name of preparing for the Olympics.

Former Public Security Minister Zhou Yongkang initiated a new round of persecution against Falun Gong beginning in March 2007. Falun Gong practitioners were arrested in droves. Some were detained or sentenced to prison. Some practitioners were abused until they became disabled and even died. Some are missing and their whereabouts remain unknown. Many practitioners were forced to put on black headgear when they were arrested. In some cases, the organizations making the arrests refused to inform the families of the arrested practitioners, denied visitation, and even denied the existence of the arrests.

On October 15, 2007, the European Union and China were scheduled to hold a human rights dialog. Prior to the meeting, Vice President of the European Parliament Mr. Edward McMillan-Scott sent a letter to Speaker of the European Parliament Hans-Gert Poettering. In the letter, he mentioned that in the report about torture in China written by the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture Mr. Manfred Nowak, two thirds of those detained by the regime are Falun Gong practitioners. Human rights attorney Gao Zhisheng concluded that about 250,000 practitioners are still being detained.

Over the past few years, police officers from the Jilin City Detention Center and Police Dog Training Base in Jilin Province have used electric shock, beatings, and mustard oil to torture practitioners. In addition, they recently began to put hot pepper powder into plastic bags and then cover the heads of the practitioners with the bags. Ms. Mu Ping was force-fed with mustard oil and her throat was severely injured. Doctors then operated on her without using anesthetics. One of her arms was severely injured during a beating. The officers pushed bamboo sticks into the tips of her fingers and toes, between the skin and the nails. Her face, hands and feet were blistered from the electric shock. In spite of this, the police still violently force-fed her.

Eleven practitioner deaths as a result of persecution were verified in December 2007

The deaths of eleven practitioners were verified in December 2007. Among them were five women and seven practitioners over the age of 50. All eleven deaths happened in December.

The eleven deaths took place in ten provinces and municipalities. There were two cases in Sichuan Province, and one each in Liaoning Province, Heilongjiang Province, Hebei Province, Jilin Province, Hunan Province, Hubei Province, Chongqing City, Zhejiang Province, and Anhui Province.

Mr. Wu Jiuping died as result of persecution in Anhui Province

Mr. Wu Jiuping, in his 30s, lived in Tianchang City. He was employed by the Testing Department of the Tianchang City People's Hospital. He began practicing Falun Dafa in 1996. He was illegally sentenced to two years of forced labor in 2001 and three years in prison in 2003, with two years of probation.

At approximately 4 p.m. on November 22, 2007, Xia Wenshi, male, head of the hospital security office, along with Domestic Security Division Head Chong Sicao, male, (also head of the Tianchang City 610 Office) of the Tianchang City Police Department, and two police officers went to Mr. Wu Jiuping's home, a new fourth floor apartment prepared for Mr. Wu's upcoming wedding. The details of what happened are under investigation. Mr. Wu's neighbor on the first floor heard a loud noise, thought something had fallen from upstairs, and found Mr. Wu on the ground. The neighbor called out for help and saw the four officials quickly leaving, despite the fact that Mr. Wu was still moving on the ground. It is not certain who called the ambulance, but a rescue worker rushed him to the Tianchang City People's Hospital, where Mr. Wu worked. Soon after, more than a dozen police officers came to seal off Mr. Wu's home. Mr. Wu's bride-to-be, the nurses in the same hospital, and his family are all being closely monitored.

Mr. Wu died in the hospital at approximately 8 p.m. on November 22, 2207.

According to an eyewitness, Mr. Wu was still moving after he fell. Sources said Mr. Wu was talking in a state of semi-consciousness after he arrived at the hospital. The left side of his face was severely swollen, and his left eye was almost blinded. His whole back and lower body were covered with bruises. The left side of his pelvis was crushed, and his left leg was broken. On the evening of November 22, 2007, the hospital was barricaded by police. The police told the public that Mr. Wu jumped from the building of his own accord, a tactic repeatedly used by the CCP after causing a practitioner's death. Further investigation determined that after police beat Mr. Wu Jiuping until he was severely injured, they then threw him out of the fourth floor.

Mr. Wu Yueqing died as a result of persecution

Mr. Wu Yueqing, in his 30s, lived in Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province. He was arrested multiple times because he practiced Falun Dafa.

In June 2000, Mr. Wu went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong, and he was arrested and detained in the Tiebei Detention Center in Changchun City. He went on a hunger strike to protest, and was cruelly force-fed by guards and the prison doctor. They stuck a water bottle down his throat, damaging it, and force-fed food into his trachea, causing his lungs to become infected. He was admitted to a hospital, where guards encouraged prisoners to beat him and pour cold water on him. The police extorted 3,000 yuan from him and detained him for more than nine months.

In December 2001, Mr. Wu was arrested at a Falun Dafa informational material production site and tortured. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison in January 2002 and served in the 23rd Branch of the 11th Ward of the Mudanjiang City Prison. Persons that participated in the abuse of Mr. Wu included 610 Office Chair Ling Qingfan; guards Ling Dawei, Li Hongbo, Du Zhanyi, and Liu Weitong; and others.

Conditions are extremely bad in Mudanjiang Prison. The two years of detention damaged Mr. Wu both mentally and physically. He was sick with tuberculosis and was as thin as a skeleton. Guards ignored his health problems until his life was in danger. He was finally admitted to the hospital, but the medicine made him even worse, and there was a big hole in one of his lungs. He weighed less than 80 pounds and was near death. The Prison Administration still delayed releasing him until he was almost dead.

Around the end of 2006 or the beginning of 2007, after returning home, Mr. Wu Yueqing was dying. His wife had passed away earlier. His older sister, Ms. Wu Yuexia, who was also a practitioner and a teacher in Baoshan Middle School, looked after him. On September 28, 2007, police officers Zhao Kui, Fang Xiaoming, and Li Fu from the Baoshan District Department stormed into Ms. Wu Yuexia's home, saying that they needed to check her background information. They took her directly to the Jiamusi City Labor Camp. Ms. Wu Yuexia was Wu Yueqing's only source of support. His condition deteriorated and he died on December 23, 2007, leaving a 13-year-old child to live in an orphanage.

Ms. Zhao Jiafang died after labor camp personnel injected her with unknown drugs

Ms. Zhao Jiafang, 64 years old, lived on Songnan Street at the Songzao Coal Mine in Qijiang County, Chongqing City. She began practicing Falun Dafa in October 1996. After her practice of Falun Gong, her various illnesses disappeared.

On July 20, 1999 Jiang Zemin's regime started the persecution of Falun Gong. At the end of 1999, Ms. Zhao went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was arrested. Songzao Coal Mine Police Department Party Secretary Yang Mingyu (male) went to Beijing to pick her up and detained her for 30 days in the Qijiang County Detention Center.

After returning home, officers Yang Mingyu and Yu Zhengming ordered Ms. Zhao's family to pay 3,000 yuan to cover Yang Mingyu's trip to Beijing, otherwise they would deduct the amount from her husband's salary.

In August 2001, led by officer He Xinqiang, several local police officers and security guards arrested Ms. Zhao at her home. They detained her in the county detention center and violently interrogated her. They had her sentenced to eight and half years in prison on charges of "obstructing the law" and took her to the Yongchuan District Forced Labor Camp.

Ms. Zhao was subjected to years of brutal treatment in the Yongchuan District Forced Labor Camp. Due to long-term hard labor, her eyesight was blurry. She passed out three times in the camp, but, the guards at the camp ignored it.

She was finally taken to the labor camp clinic, but after she was injected with some unknown drugs, she appeared to have difficulty breathing. To avoid being held responsible for her death, the labor camp authorities released her for medical treatment on October 1, 2007, and she was picked up by her family.

Her family immediately took her to the Coal Mine Employee Hospital, but she did not recover. She died at 3:40 a.m. on December 21, 2007.

Additional Information Regarding the Persecution Death of Outstanding Teacher Ms. Hou Youfang from Gansu Province (Photo)

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Hou Youfang was a physics teacher at Xipo Middle School in Jinchang City, Gansu Province. The Gansu Province No. 1 Labor Camp, 7th Division, is where she was persecuted to death on November 29, 2002; she was only 48 years old. Below is additional information regarding her case.

Ms. Hou was born on March 20, 1954. She was recognized as an outstanding and excellent teacher for several years. When she went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Dafa in February 2000, she was illegally arrested and escorted back to Jinchang City by a policeman from the Chengjian Police Station and the principal of her school, Huang Jisheng. She was held in the local substance abuse center for two weeks. When she was released, her husband, Niu Xianglin, divorced her.

School principal Huang Jisheng would not allow Ms. Hou to resume her teaching duties. He arranged instead for her to work in the cafeteria. She had to carry buckets of water for the use of 80 to 90 people, do custodial work, and gather coal. She was not allowed to wear gloves even though her hands had many open wounds that bled. Another perpetrator in the persecution was Zhang Xueyou. School authorities gave Ms. Hou 200 yuan for subsistence living expenses. She was forced to pay 6,000 yuan for being escorted back from Beijing, and she had to pay the teacher who taught her class. In total, she was charged 16, 000 yuan. The school authorities attempted to force her write a Guarantee Statement. They threatened to take her house away if she refused. They tried to deceive her by saying that, if she wrote her statement not to practice Falun Gong, they would give her back her salary and her house and let her return to teaching.

In June 2001, Hou Youfang was arrested and held in the local detention center. The director of the detention center, Hu Dengping, force-fed her and beat her so badly that she was covered with bruises. One of the perpetrators was one of her students who could not face her and hid behind a door.

Ms. Hou was arrested again the same year when she handed out truth-clarification materials at Jinsanjiao Market and was reported. After she was released, she had no place to go--she was divorced, and her children refused to take her in. She had no choice but to stay at a fellow practitioner's home. The school authorities and the police from Chengjian Police Station followed and monitored her closely.

When she once clarified the truth in public, they attempted to arrest her and shove her into a car. Because there was a large crowd witnessing the event, they had to give up arresting her in public and just followed her. When Ms. Hou went to another practitioner's place, officers from the Chengjian and Guangzhouroad Police Stations and staff from the Education Committee surrounded the house, broke in, and arrested her. She was tortured mercilessly in Chengjian Police Station, where they hung her up by her handcuffs, tied her down on a tiger bench, and subjected her to other tortures. However, Ms. Hou was able to escape with her righteous thoughts.

Homeless, she went to Minqin County and continued clarifying the truth. She was arrested by the local police, tortured, and sent back to Jinchang City.

In August 2001, Hou Youfang was sentenced to two years of forced labor. Before she left for the camp, one unnamed official announced: "No matter what you do, make sure you keep her in the labor camp." Police officer Cai Jianjun took her to the labor camp. Because of her long-term persecution, Ms. Hou was extremely weak, with migraine headaches, vertigo, and severe scabies. She was taken to the Gansu Province No. 2 Labor Camp but refused admittance due to her poor health condition. They took her to another labor camp and she was refused for the same reason. We do not know what officer Cai Jianjun said to the Gansu Province No. 1 Labor Camp officials, but they finally agreed to accept Hou Youfang. Cai Jianjun said, "According to our leader, we'd rather that she die in the labor camp than for her to leave."

Wu Ruimei, a guard at the labor camp, instigated other inmates into beating and verbally abusing Hou Youfang. Wu also stole money that fellow practitioners had given to Ms. Hou. The labor camp guards used all types of torture on her.

Ms. Hou Youfang died on November 29, 2002, as a result of torture and relentless persecution. Fellow practitioners were witnesses that Ms. Hou Youfang had been beaten so severely that her arms and ribs and pelvis were fractured. The perpetrators included Zai Wenqin, the leader of the labor camp division, the labor camp hospital, and the camp Education Department.

The Persecution of Mr. Yang Guomin's Family in Wuhan City

(Clearwisdom.net) On the evening of June 22, 2007, in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, the police illegally arrested four family members of Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yang Guomin. Later they arrested an additional family member. Mr. Yang's elderly mother, who did not practice Falun Gong, committed suicide due to sadness and despair.

Yang Guomin, 40, is an engineer with a Masters degree, working at Wuhan Institution of Science Research of Telecommunications (Fenghuo Communications). He received a national award in science and technology. Prior to his arrest, Yang worked in information and communications as a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for a company.

Around 11 p.m. on the evening of June 22, 2007, a group of plainclothes police from Donghu and Xihu Police Departments and Changqing Huayuan Police Station in Wuhan City, entered Mr. Yang's home under the pretense of needing to check the house for gas leaks. They broke the locks on the doors and robbed the home of several valuable items including a computer, mini CD player, MP3 player and cell phones. The police then apprehended Mr. Yang and his wife Zuo Ruru and left their 11-year-old son home alone. Mr. Yang was illegally detained at Etouwan Brainwashing Center in Wuhan City for more than two months, and then sentenced to a forced labor camp for one year.

Mr. Hu Yongjun, the brother of Yang Guomin (his brother took their mother's last name), was a national worker at Tianmen City's Land Administrative Bureau in Hubei Province. Mr. Hu went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong in November 2001. He was illegally detained at Tianmen City Detention Center for more than eight months and was denied any visitors. He was later sentenced to three years of imprisonment and sent to the notorious Shayang Fanjiatai Prison, where he endured forced labor and was insulted and tortured. When he was released in 2004, he was fired from his previous job. He then found employment in a telecommunications company in Wuhan City. Sometime around June 28, 2007, he was called into work by his company and then arrested by police from Wuhan City Police Department. He was sent to a brainwashing center, and a few days later he escaped with strong righteous thoughts. He has since become homeless to avoid persecution.

On the evening of June 22, 2007, in Jiangan District, Xuzhou New Village, no.3 Village, more than two dozen officers from Wuhan City Police Department and the area's 610 Office forced their way into the home of Ms. Yang Linge, the sister of Mr. Yang Guomin. They abducted Ms. Yang Linge and confiscated her computer, printer, cell phones, satellite dish, tape recorder and 1,000 yuan in cash. Her 9-year-old son was so frightened by the scene that he hid under the bed and refused to come out. On the same evening, police arrested Ms. Yang's husband, Cheng Dehan, while he was working an evening shift at his job and took him to Chenjiaji Brainwashing Center in Jiangan District. Mr. Cheng was sent to a forced labor camp for a year and a half. His place of employment, Jiangan Vehicles Company, fired him after 19 years and left the family without any income.

During the eight months that her youngest son, Yang Guojun, was detained, his mother made countless appeals to the officials of the village, township, city and the detention center. She asked again and again for the release of her son. She even knelt in front of the Tianmen City Detention Center for a very long time, but no one seemed to take notice. Those officials pretended they didn't see her. They even refused her the right to visit her son. After Mr. Hu was sentenced for another three year, his mother lost all hope and killed herself in December 2002. Police in Fanjiatai Prison rejected Mr. Yang's request to see his mother one last time after she died.

Currently both Mr. Yang Guomin and his brother in law Mr. Cheng Dehan are detained at Wuhan City Hewan Forced Labor Camp. Mr. Yang is under 24 hour a day observation.

On the written conclusion of the forced labor camp sentence, it says that the litigant can appeal to the court. When family members asked to see Mr. Yang so he could sign the appeal application, the officers in the labor camp said they would see that the application was submitted. Two weeks later, family members checked with Wuhan City Appealing Department and were informed that they were instructed by officials not to accept appeals from Falun Gong practitioners. The Hubei Province Forced Labor Camp Administration stated they never received the appeal. Family members returned to the forced labor camp and were told the application was turned into the 610 office for review. At the present time, Mr. Yang's family still hasn't received any result from the appeal process and the legal system appears to be simply a tool for deceiving people.

Before practicing Falun Gong, Mr. Yang Guomin suffered from severe neurasthenia. He had difficulty sleeping and always felt tired during the day. Mr Yang often felt weak and was frequently ill. He tried many types of medicines and exercises but nothing helped. Only one week after he started to practice Falun Gong, his health condition dramatically improved. With a healthy body, Mr. Yang was able to make a greater contribution at his job. As a high-level researcher he took part in the research of a 10Gb/s SDH optical fiber transmission system and received a prestigious award for science and technology. In November 2001, Mr. Yang was detained in a brainwashing center for more than 6 months because he went to Beijing to appeal. After he was released, he was forced to leave his job because he refused to give up his belief in Falun Gong. He had received a Technical Innovation Award from this company for his great work in information and communications, and had led a team that made huge contributions to the company. Yet such a person is sent to a forced labor camp by Chinese Communist Party (CCP)! His family is now destitute.
